Call of Duty: United Offensive is an expansion pack for the popular first-person shooter computer game, Call of Duty. It is developed by Gray Matter Interactive, with contributions from Pi Studios, and published by Activision. It was released for Microsoft Windows on September 14, 2004.
Since October 13, 2006, the game has also been available to buy on Valve's content delivery platform, Steam. This comes after an agreement with its publisher, Activision. Also available so far are: its original, Call of Duty, the sequel, Call of Duty 2, and the western, GUN.
Continuing from the original game, much of the American Campaign is influenced by Band of Brothers. The Sicily mission is arguably influenced by The Guns of Navarone.

Call of Duty (released October 29, 2003) is a first-person shooter video game based on id Tech 3. This war game simulates the infantry and combined arms warfare of World War II. The game was published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward.
In September 2004 an expansion pack to Call of Duty was released titled Call of Duty: United Offensive. It was produced by Activision, and developed by Gray Matter Interactive, with contributions from Pi Studios. The Mac OS X version was ported by Aspyr Media, Inc. In Late 2004, the N-Gage version was developed by Nokia and published by Activision. Other versions were released for PC, including Collector's Edition (with soundtrack and strategy guide), Game of the Year Edition (includes game updates), and the Deluxe Edition (which contains United Offensive expansion and soundtrack in the USA. However, in Europe the soundtrack is not included).
A sequel, Call of Duty 2, was developed by Infinity Ward and was released in October 2005. There are also Call of Duty games developed for consoles, but with separate storylines, such as Call of Duty: Finest Hour by Spark Unlimited and Call of Duty 2: Big Red One by Gray Matter Interactive and Treyarch. The third installment, Call of Duty 3, was released in November 2006 exclusively for consoles and developed by Treyarch instead of Infinity Ward. The fourth installment, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, is set in modern times and is slated to be released in the Fall of 2007. Call of Duty DS is a another modern-day entry in the series, to be released for the Nintendo DS.
Since October 13, 2006, the original game, Call of Duty: United Offensive, and Call of Duty 2 have been available for purchase via Valve's content delivery platform, Steam.

Call of Duty 2 is a first-person shooter video game and sequel to the critically acclaimed game Call of Duty. It was developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. It was released on October 25, 2005 for PC and November 15, 2005 for the Xbox 360. The game takes place during World War II and features three campaigns, where the player takes the role of a soldier in either the Red Army, the British Army, or the United States Army. Other versions of the game have been released for mobile phones and Pocket PC.
The game was met with a positive public reception, receiving largely positive reviews from critics. It sold a large number of copies within weeks of its release, with the Xbox 360 version, a launch title, selling in large numbers.
The console-only sequel to Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 3, was released in November 2006. This will be followed by Call of Duty 4.
